Plant medicine is revolutionising healthcare. Not just for humans, but for animals too. Pet wellness continues to be a booming global industry. With the sector set to expand over the next few years, pet owners, veterinarians, pharma companies, and investors are taking note.
Pets are not just fluffy companions – they’re family members. We want them to live healthy, active lives – for as long as possible. However, like their owners, animals too can develop chronic conditions like inflammatory pain, anxiety, dermatological conditions, osteoarthritis, and cancers like lymphoma; as well as neurological and behavioural disorders.
While exercise, diet, and veterinarian care are essential, many available pharmaceutical options – like NSAIDs (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) and even FDA-approved medications – can cause long-term side effects in pets: including organ damage and reduced quality of life.
